Fly Tipping Prevention and Fines

Residents and Tenants
Landlords / Leaseholders

The disposal of any items that do not fit into rubbish bins inside the bin sheds , i.e. furniture, household appliances, mattresses etc. must be arranged with either Council’s, or any other independent, bulk waste collection services.
Any household waste , or that generated by any kind of engineer or building works on a property, must be deposited in the proper way. It must not be left anywhere else on the estate outside the dedicated facilities.

In order to deal with the minority of residents who do brake the law by dumping / fly tipping the Jebb Avenue Management Committee is working closely with Lambeth Council Enforcement team to get those identified fined or even prosecuted.
Lambeth Council will initially issue a £400.00 fixed penalty notice, but if the offending behaviour is repeated the culprits can be prosecuted.
You can be punished by a fine of up to £50,000 or 12 months imprisonment if convicted in a Magistrates’ Court, or an unlimited fine and up to 5 years imprisonment if convicted in a Crown Court.
If the person cannot be identified, but it is determined from which flat on the estate the dumped rubbish / items came from, the owner of the flat will be penalised, as below.

If you are a leaseholder, resident or landlord, and the dumped / fly tipped household rubbish or bulk items are identified as coming from your property, Jebb Avenue Management Company will charge the cost of the removal to your service charge account. If amount remain unpaid it will not be possible to sell the property before settling the owed amount.
