Sometimes those big household appliances just decide to die.
Or we fancy buying something new and more trendy.
Same with our loved and well used armchair, sofa or that old and
faithful mattress that gave us so many sweet dreams .
How do we give them a proper send-off?

If you are getting rid of a few items like MDF kitchen cabinets or bits of furniture, and can break them down to smaller (~40cm – 50cm) pieces, then just put them in the big rubbish bins.
For anything that does not fit in the bin, to arrange collection with Lambeth council’s bulky waste team, or to find out other ways to dispose of a wide range of reusable and recyclable items, please go to:
https://beta.lambeth.gov.uk/rubbish-and-recycling/bulky-waste
If your unwanted items are still functional and you would rather see them go to a good home, try to give them away via social media community groups like:
Nextdoor or
Facebook
Which ever option you decide, do not place any items outside before the day of collection.
If collection is by Lambeth council, please attach a note with the collection reference number.

If you decide to hire a skip, please choose a spot for it where it will not distract residents’ normal access and parking.
Do not overfill the skip!
Skip companies will leave the excess load behind and this will be the responsibility of the person who has hired the skip.
